BMW dealers to open two new facilities in Toronto

Whitby, Ontario – BMW Group Canada announced that two of its largest dealers will open new retail facilities in the Toronto area this week. What is unusual is that the two retailers – who currently reside in the adjacent market areas of Yonge & Steeles and Markham/Unionville – are switching market areas: Town + Country BMW will move to Unionville/Markham (Kennedy Road and Highway 407); and BMW Autohaus will move to Thornhill (Steeles Avenue and Cactus Avenue).

In 2001, construction of these two very large facilities began and was coordinated so that both retailers could open the same week. “Both retailers needed continuity and a seamless transition without having two retailers open in the same market area and none in the other,” explained Don Neville, Manager of Business Development for BMW Group Canada.

Over the past five years, twenty-four of BMW’s thirty-two retailers have completed or planned totally new facilities or major renovations within a three year period. This is a total of over 100 million dollars invested by BMW retailers across the country.
