Whitby, Ontario – BMW Canada announced price reductions on its 2009 BMW vehicles, ranging from $1,000 – $7,000 depending on the model, as well as upgraded equipment levels.

The 2009 3 Series and X5 lineup will expand in late 2008 with the introduction of the BMW 335d and X5 xDrive 35d, both featuring a 3.0-litre in-line six cylinder diesel engine with Variable Twin Turbo Technology and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) management system with urea injection. The diesel engine offers a maximum output of 265 hp and peak torque of 425 lb-ft.
Preliminary performance figures for the 2009 BMW 335d indicate an acceleration capability of 6.2 seconds to achieve 0-100 km/h while delivering average fuel economy of 8.5/5.3 litres per 100 km(city/highway). The 2009 X5 xDrive 35d, in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic, will set new performance standards in the segment, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds while delivering thrifty fuel consumption of 10.7/7.5 litres per 100 km (city/highway).
