Whitby, Ontario – BMW Group Canada has announced it will premiere the Mini Clubman, BMW 1 Series Coupe, X6 Sports Activity Coupe and M3 Coupe at the Montreal International Auto Show in January.
The 2008 Mini Clubman is a unique five-door model that will be added to the company’s line-up in February 2008. It features a lengthened body and roofline, a small “Clubdoor” on the passenger side, and two rear split-doors in place of a hatch. It will be available as the Cooper Clubman and Cooper S Clubman.
The company will introduce the 1 Series Coupe in the spring of 2008, part of a brand-new series entering North America. The first variants will be the 128i and 135i Coupes. The X6, which the company calls the world’s first Sports Activity Coupe, will come standard with a new generation of BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive technology, and be available with a V8 or six-cylinder engine, both with twin turbochargers.
The new, fourth-generation M3 Coupe is based on the 3 Series Coupe and is the first production M3 vehicle with an eight-cylinder engine. The new 4.0-litre V8 produces 414 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. It is also the first production car in its segment with a carbon-fibre roof, which lowers its centre of gravity. It will enter the market in the first quarter of 2008.
