Offered in Canada as a 325xi with xDrive all-wheel-drive, the new 3 Series will have more power and performance than its predecessor but with improved fuel efficiency. A new inline six-cylinder will produce 215 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 20 hp over the previous, heavier engine. It will come standard with a six-speed manual and the option of a six-speed automatic.

Other features will include unique styling from the sedan, run-flat tires, a watertight folding box below the luggage compartment floor, sun blinds on the rear windows, separate rear-seat air conditioning and a panorama sunroof. Active Steering, which provides quicker steering at low speeds and more indirect steering at high speeds, will be optional.
