Oakville, Ontario – A restored 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is being sold through an online and live auction to raise money for the Ontario conservation group Fish For Ever.
The matching-numbers car has been restored to “excellent #2 condition” by Boot Hill Automotive Resurrection, and includes its original 283-cubic-inch V8 engine, three-speed standard transmission, new interior, and new exhaust. It has 53,000 original miles, with 60 miles since the restoration, and has an appraised value of $65,000 to $75,000. The reserve price is $40,000.
The group is accepting online bids until October 16, 2009 at Fish For Ever. The car will be on display at a fundraising dinner on Tuesday, October 20 at LeDome Banquet Hall in Oakville, where it will go on the block in a live auction. The highest online bid will become the reserve price in the live auction.
