Crewe, England – Bentley Motors has unveiled two unique Continental models that have been engineered and designed exclusively for the Chinese market. The cars will be built at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe.
The Chinese market is now Bentley’s third most important single sales market. Since entering the country in 2002, the company’s sales have grown nearly tenfold, to 421 cars in 2009. Bentley has nine dealerships in China, with two more scheduled to open later this year.
The Continental GT Design Series China, which will debut this week at the 2010 Auto China Motor Show, includes a three-tone interior, the availability of orange and magenta as accent colours, and new wood accents, including Design Series China-specific Amboyna veneer. The model will also feature unique badges with the Design Series China signature.
The company will also launch the Continental Flying Spur Speed China, with several engineering upgrades developed for the Chinese market, including a “comfort” suspension setting and quieter exhaust note, along with Speed China-specific badges. Each car will also come with a special display case for the ignition key.
