Belinda Stronach to return to Magna International

Aurora, Ontario – Belinda Stronach, the current Federal Member of Parliament for Aurora and Newmarket (Ontario), has announced that she will not be standing for re-election in the next federal election. Instead, she will rejoin automotive supplier Magna International as Executive Vice-Chairman.

“Our Board of Directors welcomes Belinda rejoining the Magna executive management team as Executive Vice-Chairman,” says Ed Lumley, Magna’s Lead Director. “She has extensive experience in the auto industry, has gained national and international exposure as a Minister while in government, and will bring an unparalleled understanding of Magna’s unique corporate culture which has been the major contributor to Magna’s historical success.”

Stronach left her position as president and CEO of Magna in January 2004 to enter federal politics. The company was founded in 1957 by her father, current company chairman Frank Stronach.
