BCAA joins list of Canada’s best employers
Burnaby, British Columbia – The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) has been named one of Canada’s Best Employers for 2007. The list is compiled by international HR consultants Hewitt Associates, and is published in the Globe & Mail’s Report on Business Magazine. The ranking is based on an annual “engagement survey” of employees; BCAA reports that 90 per cent of its employees participated.
“Being a ‘best employer’ starts with having great employees,” says John Evans, BCAA’s Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Communications. “In fact, BCAA employees identified their coworkers as one of the things they like most about working for BCAA. We’re extremely proud of our employees who regularly go the extra distance for BCAA members and customers, and for each other.”
The 50 Best Employers ranking is determined by surveys completed by over 100,000 Canadian employees at nearly 120 participating organizations, with input from some 2,000 business leaders and HR professionals. It is the first year BCAA has appeared on the list, debuting in 39th place; it has participated in the survey since 2001.
The survey asks employees how well their employer is doing in a variety of areas, including motivation, learning and development, leadership, recognition and career opportunities.
