Mission, British Columbia – The Children’s Charities Grand Prix has been announced for River’s Edge Raceway in Mission, British Columbia for September 20 and 21. Organizers say it will be the most exciting event in B.C. since the Champ Cars last ran in downtown Vancouver in 2004.

The event will benefit the B.C. Children’s Hospital and Children’s Wish Foundation; partial proceeds from the gate will go to both charities, as well as funds raised from a silent auction and the “Hot Laps 4 Kidz”. This gives fans the opportunity to ride on the newly-configured, nine-turn 1.3-mile racetrack, driven by professional drivers in a variety of supercars and race cars.

The CCGP concept was derived from the successful SCCBC Invitational that ran along with the Vancouver Indy from 1990 through 2004. It features a vast array of P1- and P2-class cars and driving talent from across Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest, racing for a $10,000 prize purse. The CCGP race will take place during round four of the Pacific Region CACC Championship.

The weekend will also feature a variety of exciting classes, including open wheel Formula and vintage cars.
