Munich, Germany – Two ministers of the Bavarian government will be using the world’s first serial production hydrogen-powered BMW 7 Series sedans. Dr.Werner Schnappauf, Minister of Environment, and Erwin Huber, Minister for Economic Affairs, will use the cars for everyday use.

“The state of Bavaria joins BMW in pursuing future technologies which allow mobility without pollutant emissions,” Schnappauf says. “Not only the automotive industry but the entire economy must significantly reduce CO2 emissions so that we can counteract climate change. This requires a new industrial revolution with hydrogen energy. The development of serial production vehicles by BMW is an important signal.”

The Hydrogen 7 is being given to selected representatives from the fields of politics, economy and society. Initially, one hundred Hydrogen 7 vehicles have been produced, with their use in everyday traffic to provide new insights for further development.
