Barrett-Jackson auction to feature celebrity’s cars
Scottsdale, Arizona – Nicholas Cage, Vin Diesel, Jodie Foster, James Garner and Eddie Murphy are just some of the celebrities connected to the cars to be auctioned off at “No Reserve” during the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction January 25-30, at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“Celebrity cars are always high demand making them an important part of the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction,” said Craig Jackson, president of Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. “Our list of celebrity participants creates a more exciting auction for both buyers and bidders.”
Barrett-Jackson will auction an unprecedented line-up of Corvettes this year, including a 1963 FI split window coupe formerly owned by “National Treasure” star Nicholas Cage. Other celebrity cars include a 1941 Hollywood Graham Custom owned by Sally Rand and Eddie Murphy and Jodie Foster’s 1979 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible.
Many of this year’s celebrity cars appear in major motion pictures or on television, including a 1967 Pontiac GTO Clone featured in the adrenaline pumping hit “XXX” starring Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson. Also crossing the auction block is 1953 Glasspar G2 Roadster, owned by James Garner and used in the 1954 motion picture “Johnny Dark.” It’s a story of an automobile engineer, played by the renowned actor Tony Curtis, who designs a radical new car used to win a Canada-to-Mexico car race.
Additionally, the New York City taxi used by the cast of the television hit “Seinfeld” will be available for auction. This 1993 Chevrolet Caprice is an authentic replica of the world renowned Manhattan yellow taxi.
The auction airs on the SPEED Channel Network live.
