Montreal, Quebec – A group of British Columbia tuners has won the Scion Canadian Tuner Challenge and will take their customized Scion xB to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas next month.

Tony Yuen and his SR Auto Group colleagues from Richmond, B.C. had their vehicle named the winner at Importfest in Montreal last weekend, following being named one of the finalists at Importfest in Toronto last August.

Modifications to the xB include DL Style B-Magic body kit and spoiler, 19-inch wheels, hand-painted lug nuts, full black suede interior, blue LED accent lighting and a 32-inch LED LCD television. Judging was done on a 150-point scale, with marks awarded for interior body, engine, interior and audio, along with several subcategories.

The team will display its car at SEMA in November and receive a $5,000 cash prize.

The other two entries were Arthur Chiang and six teammates from Toronto, who customized a Scion tC, and Shawn O’Donnell and Benoit Sty-Cyre of Lachine, Quebec who modified a Scion xD. Once chosen as finalists based on their preliminary design, each team was given a vehicle, $10,000 and unlimited access to Scion and TRD accessories for their modifications.
