The American Le Mans Series and the Porsche GT3 Cup Canada will be racing this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, along with the Mazda Pro series and MX-5 cup. To kick off festivities and bring some excitement to downtown Toronto, Canadian motorsport legend Ron Fellows brought his bright yellow, Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C6.R to Yonge-Dundas Square.
There the team wowed the crowd with demonstrations of the earth-shaking ‘Vette engine, and some smoky burnouts while his crack squad of rattle-gun jockeys showed off their pit stop skills.
One highlight of the event – at least for journalists – was the opportunity for the media to try their hand on the heavy, torque-spewing wheel guns. Competition was fierce. Yours truly went first on behalf of Autos.ca and completed the stops in 27 seconds, smashing The Driver’s David Miller and PRN Ignition’s Lee Bailie by more than 10 seconds.
For reference, the Corvette team performed the same task in just under nine seconds. You can watch their stop in the video below.

Where can I watch it?:
Also on hand at the event was a Mazda MX-5 and a handful of Porsches. Arguably, the star of the show was the innovative and polarizing DeltaWing prototype, resplendent in McLaren Silver.
