Ingolstadt, Germany – Audi has announced it will found its own sales company in Taiwan, which will begin operations in February 2009. The brand has been represented in the Taiwanese market by independent importers for over 20 years.

“We see great potential for our fascinating products in this dynamic growth region,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management of Audi AG, Marketing and Sales. “With a highly qualified and motivated Audi team, we will offer our customers an exclusive brand experience in Taiwan.”

Approximately 1,900 Audi vehicles were sold in Taiwan in 2007; the company has set a goal of more than doubling that figure in 2015. The company is also investing heavily in its dealership and service network; eleven exclusive new dealerships will be opening in Taiwan in the coming years, including three in the metropolis of Taipei alone.
