Audi diesel race car finishes season undefeated

Monterey, California – With a 1-2 victory in the finale of the American Le Mans Series at Laguna Seca in California, the Audi R10 TDI has remained unbeaten in its debut season, winning all eight of its races.

The company credits the Laguna Seca win to the diesel engine’s low fuel consumption; both Audi R10 vehicles lost a lap in the race, but were able to catch the leaders when the competitors had to refuel during the final hour. One of the Audi racers was able to complete 64 of the 159 laps on a single tank of fuel.
