Ingolstadt, Germany – Audi has announced that its all-new 2009 A4 will also be available as the A4 Avant wagon, which the company will debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March.
The A4 Avant will use an exclusive four-cylinder turbocharged engine as its base powerplant and offer an available 3.2-litre FSI V6 engine. In the U.S., it will be available only with Quattro all-wheel drive. It will go on sale in the fall of 2008 alongside the new 2009.
In Europe and other markets outside North America, the A4 Avant will be available with two gasoline and three diesel engines, offering superior performance with a reduction in fuel consumption by more than 14 per cent when compared to the previous model.
The new styling includes a shorter front overhang, longer hood and wheelbase, longer overall length, and a body that is more rigid but 10 per cent lighter than the previous model.
