Aston Martin to unveil Vantage roadster at Los Angeles auto show
Los Angeles, California – Aston Martin announced it will unveil the new V8 Vantage Roadster at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday, November 29th.
Aston Martin Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez said: “The V8 Vantage Roadster is a pure sports car, a car that heightens the senses and provides a dynamically thrilling driving experience.
The car’s three-layer fabric power top can be opened or closed in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h).
The Vantage Roadster will be built at Aston Martin’s headquarters at Gaydon, near Warwickshire in the U.K. The V8 engine is hand-assembled at a facility in Cologne, Germany. It is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2007 with prices to be confirmed at a later date.
The V8 Vantage Roadster joins the Vanquish S, the DB9 and the V8 Vantage Coupe in Aston Martin’s line-up.
