London, England – The Aston Martin Cygnet, the company’s new luxury city car, has made its global debut at Harrods department store in London. The new car occupies a prominent spot in the store’s Brompton Road window display.
The debut marks the first appearance of the car in production-ready form. Based on the Toyota iQ, the Cygnet will go into production in 2011. It will be painted, trimmed and assembled by Aston Martin at its facility in Gaydon, Warwickshire in England.
The new compact model will be the eighth major production car Aston Martin has introduced at its manufacturing facility since 2004.
