AMA School Safety Patrollers celebrate another perfect year

Edmonton, Alberta – The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) School Safety Patrol is celebrating another year of its impeccable safety record; in the 69-year history of the program, there have been no fatalities or serious injuries at school crosswalks monitored by patrollers. Each year, 17,000 grade five and six students and their teachers, from 550 schools across Alberta, dedicate their time and efforts to keep students safe.

“We are celebrating the success we have built together,” says Don Smitten, President of the AMA. “The success of the AMA School Safety Patrol is a testament to the contribution and commitment of our patrollers and partners.”
