Toronto, Ontario – Toyota Canada has announced that its all-new 2008 Sequoia has gone on sale across Canada, at a base price of $44,675, its lowest Canadian starting price since 2001.
“Conventional wisdom says a strong, powerful SUV and a stylish, comfortable SUV are mutually exclusive, but Toyota Sequoia owners know that with this full-size SUV, all things are possible,” said Tony Wearing, Managing Director of Toyota Canada Inc. “There are many larger families out there who need a vehicle that is not only a comfortable people-mover, but has the power to carry the loads that they require. So for the all-new 2008 Sequoia, we listened to customers across North America to better understand what they required of their SUV.”
The new Sequoia is available as the $44,675 SR5, $54,200 Limited and $59,900 Platinum, and uses a 4.7-litre V8 with five-speed automatic or all-new 5.7-litre V8 with six-speed automatic transmission. All models use one-touch four-wheel drive, vehicle stability control and traction control, and feature upgraded suspensions, including a new-for-2008 independent rear suspension, along with a tighter turning circle and towing capacity upgraded as high as 4,125 kg (9,095 lbs).
Depending on the model, the Sequoia seats seven or eight passengers, and includes redesigned second-row doors that open further for easier entry and exit, and power-folding third-row seats.
