Frankfurt, Germany – The all-new Jaguar XJ made its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, alongside the new 2010 XKR and XFR models.
“The all-new XJ re-imagines the ultimate sporting luxury car,” said Mike O’Driscoll, Jaguar Cars managing director. “It’s beautiful, exhilarating to drive and with a bold, enlightened approach to design meets the challenges of our fast-changing world. Having it on show to the public for the first time with our other brilliant models is proof that Jaguar’s entire range lives up to our philosophy of creating beautiful, fast cars.”
The new XJ features the next-generation application of Jaguar’s unique lightweight vehicle architecture, produced primarily of aluminum but also with magnesium and composite alloys to create a significantly lighter and stiffer body. Four engines are available, topped by a 510-horsepower 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, with a zero to 100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds.
Other features include a panoramic glass roof on all models, Virtual Instrument dials, and an optional 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins premium surround sound system.
