Montreal, Quebec – The all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has made its Canadian debut at the Montreal Auto Show. The new model is the first Chevrolet global midsize sedan that will be sold in 100 countries on six continents.
For North America, the Malibu will use an all-new 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and next-generation six-speed automatic transmission. It will also be available as the Malibu Eco, using a 2.4-litre direct-injection engine and GM’s eAssist light electrification technology, which is expected to achieve 5.3 L/100 km in highway driving.
Features will include the new Chevrolet MyLink connectivity, which seamlessly integrates online services such as Stitcher SmartRadio, and new safety features and technologies including ten airbags, ultra-high-strength steel, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and a rearview camera system.
The new Malibu has a shorter wheelbase but front and rear tracks that are more than 51 mm wider than the model it replaces, with a more spacious cabin that is nearly 113 litres larger than the outgoing Malibu and with more shoulder and hip room.
