Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario – The Automobile Journalists of Association (AJAC) and Canadian automobile manufacturers have raised $4,569, along with clothing and goods, to help victims of a catastrophic fire in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario in conjunction with Canadian Car of the Year testing.

Vehicle testing for the Car of the Year awards were held this week in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Earlier, a fire in the city ripped through two historic buildings, destroying them and leaving at least four people homeless.

The money was raised through donations from attending journalists. The Canadian Car of the Year association matched the amount raised, while an anonymous donor matched it again. Automobile manufacturers also donated generously, providing clothing and other goods that will be distributed directly to the people affected by the fire.
