Acura kicks off production of new MDX at Alliston, Ontario plant
Alliston, Ontario – Takeo Fukui, president & CEO of Honda Motor Co.
Ltd., Tokyo, attended a ceremony at the Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM)
facility in Alliston, Ontario, to commemorate start of production of the new
2007 Acura MDX luxury SUV. The 2007 MDX, which will be built at the HCM plant, is
scheduled to go on sale across Canada in mid-October.
The redesigned MDX is powered by a new 3.7-litre V6 with 300 horsepower and a five-speed automatic transmission. The MDX will be capable of towing up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs.). The new MDX will also use Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. Pricing for the new MDX will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
