Iconic pony car will go SVO for the old world.

With the upcoming launch of the Mustang not too far away, Ford has vowed their new pony car will be a global affair. And part of that means appeasing Euro greenies and their sensibilities to CO2 emissions.

The new Mustang set for 2015 will be available with a modified version of the Focus ST powerplant. But, instead of being a simple 2.0L turbo, Ford will be increasing it’s displacement to 2.3L and adding 50hp, for a total of 300. Hrrmmm, this is starting to sound familiar. SVO familiar.

As with all things turbocharged and ridiculously good looking, we won’t be getting it on our shores. The V6 is here to stay at least for the foreseeable future.
