Toyota makes it easy to choose the new Tundra that’s right for you

2014 Toyota Tundra pick-up offered in 10 models with a Lower MSRP on popular models

TORONTO, Ont. – When projects are calling, choose the new 2014 Toyota Tundra and you’re ready to answer the call. The 2014 Tundra – styled, engineered and assembled exclusively in North America – is now on sale across Canada with suggested starting prices as low as $26,750 and with lower starting MSRP on popular Double Cab and CrewMax models (compared to the 2013 Tundra lineup).

“Tundra has always been about capability and choice, and for the 2014 Tundra we have organized the line-up around a new, five-grade structure that makes it easier for Canadians to compare models,” said Larry Hutchinson, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “Within the Tundra line-up, Canadians will find a choice of engine sizes, drive trains, cab sizes, bed sizes and more. And regardless of the model they choose or the available options they add, Canadians can pick their pick-up with confidence that they’re getting a truck they’ll love for the long haul.”

Toyota’s half-ton full-size pickup has it all: impressive power and capability; a bold, chiseled exterior; a refined, spacious interior; fresh styling inside and out with a unique identity for each of the five grades; segment-leading technology; no-compromise safety systems; and an enviable reputation for reliability, efficiency and retained value.

The 2014 Toyota Tundra is offered in a choice of two engine sizes. The impressive 5.7L i-FORCE V8 engine generates up to 381 HP and up to 401 lb-ft of torque, proving a towing capability of up to 10,500 lbs. For even greater efficiency, a 4.6L i-FORCE V8 offers 310 HP and 327 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed Super ECT transmission with overdrive, Sequential-Shift mode, and Tow/Haul capability.

Canadians may choose from the extra efficiency of a 4×2 drivetrain or the go-anywhere capability of a 4×4 drivetrain featuring One-Touch 4WD and Active Traction Control (A-TRAC).  All Tundra models benefit from Heavy-Duty suspension systems designed to withstand Off-Road conditions while delivering superior on-road driving comfort.

New interior designs are more ergonomic, with easier access to controls for the driver, additional seat travel and a new instrument panel with gauges grouped into clear, easy to see clusters. Consoles feature multiple storage areas for personal items and electronics, plus locking glove boxes.

Safety is always part of a Toyota’s DNA, and the new Tundra features extensive active and passive safety systems – from the six technologies in the Toyota Star Safety System (Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Smart Stop brake override technology) to the segment’s only standard drive and front passenger knee airbags. The 2014 Tundra is the first in its segment to be equipped with a back-up camera as standard on all models, and the only full-size pick-up offered with an available Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert system.

Every 2014 Toyota Tundra is generously equipped with comfort and convenience features, including: a display audio system with voice recognition, USB audio input and steering wheel-mounted controls; Bluetooth connectivity; air-conditioning; a trip computer; tilting/telescoping steering column; power adjustable, heated mirrors; all-season floor mats; 12-volt accessory power outlets with retained accessory power; digital clock; multi-information display; windshield wiper de-icer; an easy lower and lift, removable locking tailgate; and more.

SR grade models feature 6.1” display audio system, fabric seat surfaces, manually-adjustable driver’s seats, black dash trim and inner door handles, 18” styled steel wheels; and black exterior details including grille surround, outside mirrors, and door handles.

SR5 grade models showcase a “professional gear” theme, with: unique driver and passenger zones; metallic accents; unique fabrics; premium surface treatments and more. Models in this grade feature: power windows; cruise control; power door locks; dual illuminated vanity mirrors; and more.

Limited grade models convey an “active premium” image, with leather seat surfaces, soft touch door and console surfaces, and wood-style interior trim. Additional features include: dual-zone automatic climate control; a larger, 7” screen for the display audio system; power adjustable driver’s seats; auto-dimming rear view mirror; power rear sliding cab window; privacy glass; chrome and silver interior accents; chrome exterior accents; leather-wrapped steering wheel; 20” aluminum alloy wheels with locks; garage door opener; clearance and back-up sensors; anti-theft system; bed-rail system with tie-down cleats; fog lamps; and more.

Platinum grade models have been extensively redesigned. Features include: perforated, diamond pleated premium leather seats, door and instrument panel inserts to create an upscale yet urban in-cab environment; heated and ventilated front seats; driver’s seat memory system; power-adjustable front passenger’s seat; chrome seat and console accents; a premium JBL audio system with navigation; power moon roof; premium 20” aluminum alloy wheels with locks; exterior mirrors and steering column linked to the driver’s seat memory system; colour-keyed exterior details; and more.

The 1794 Edition is at the top of the grade structure. Paying tribute to the Texas ranch that once operated where Tundra’s assembly plant is now located, this model conveys a western lifestyle theme while offering the premium features and comfort of the platinum grade. Features include: exclusive saddle brown premium leather trimmed seating with embossed leather and ultra-suede accents; matching soft-touch materials on the shift console, door trim and instrument panel; wood-grain and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob; 20” chrome-clad alloy wheels; and chrome exterior accents.
