2008 BMW 5-Series to debut at New York auto show
Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey – The new BMW 5 Series will make its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show in April, announced the company. The new exterior and interior styling “underscores the sporting yet elegant and refined character of the BMW 5 Series,” said a company news release.
The 2008 5 Series will offer BMW’s newly developed straight-six engines mated to a choice of transmissions, including a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission – including BMW’s new Sport Automatic Transmission with shift paddles. The six cylinder engine versions of the new 5 Series will be available with xDrive permanent and variable all-wheel-drive technology.
The new 5 Series will be the only car in its segment available with Active Steering, BMW Night Vision, a Head-Up Display and Active Cruise Control featuring Stop & Go functions as well as Lane Departure Warning. Featured as standard equipment will be iDrive control, with no less than six freely programmable favourite buttons as well as an optionally available navigation system with voice control and full-word entry.
The 2008 BMW 5 Series will be available this April.
