2006 Honda Civic wins Motor Trend Car of the Year award
Torrance, California – Motor Trend magazine has named the redesigned 2006 Honda Civic its “2006 Car of the Year”. The award applies to the Civic four-door sedan, Civic two-door coupe, and Civic Hybrid sedan.
The Civic was chosen from a field of 28 new or substantially revised vehicles. Testing took place over a two-week period that included thousands of miles of on-track driving and on-street evaluation, along with several days of walk-around appraisals. The magazine recognized the Civic for its “exceptional value, superiority in its class and the most significant development on the new-car scene for 2006.”
The Civic Coupe and Civic Coupe Si models are produced exclusively at the Honda plant in Alliston, Ontario, while all Civic sedans sold in Canada are also produced there. Most Civic sedans are produced in East Liberty, Ohio, and some in Suzuka, Japan. All Civic Hybrids are produced in Suzuka, Japan.
