2006 Concept Vehicle of the Year semi-finalists named

Atlanta, Georgia – The semi-finalists in the fifth annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards were announced during a ceremony at the Atlanta International Auto Show. Automotive journalists from throughout North America serve as volunteer jurors to select the award winners.

Originated in 2002 by the South East Automotive Media Organization (SEAMO), the awards recognize concept vehicles that have made the strongest impact in terms of automotive design, engineering and market responsiveness. To be eligible, a concept vehicle must make its North American debut during the current model year’s auto show season. The category finalists and overall winner will be announced in June in Detroit.

The semi-finalists for Concept Car are the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, Saab Aero X and Mazda Kabura; for Concept Truck, the Dodge Rampage, Ford Super Chief, Suzuki PX and Toyota F3R; for Specialty Concept, the Ford Reflex, Maserati Birdcage, Volkswagen GX3 and Mitsubishi CT; and for Production Preview, the Aston Martin Rapide, Buick Enclave, Mini Traveller and Volvo C30.
