Detroit, Michigan – On sale this April, the subtly restyled 2004 Jaguar S-Type will
offer a new diesel engine option in the middle of 2004 in addition to the
all-aluminium 2.5 and 3.0 litre V6s and both naturally aspirated and supercharged
versions of the 4.2 litre V8.

Its revised exterior styling is cleaner and tauter and the hood is now made of
lightweight aluminum. Inside, there’s a redesigned instrument panel and a greater
choice of colour and trim options. S-Type Sport and S-Type R models now have as
standard a sporty aluminium facia finish, the first time that S-Type owners have
been able to choose an interior without wood trim. The new S-Type also offers an
even broader range of features, from new wheel styles to advanced cruise control and
parking aid options.

In 2002 the S-Type received a new front suspension and extensively revised rear
suspension. The layout continues with the new S-Type, with some modifications
including low friction ball joints and re-tuned dampers, providing improved ride and
dynamics.
