Mercedes-Benz displays new CLK55 AMG Cabriolet
A new convertible version of the high-performance CLK55 coupe was unveiled yesterday at the Chicago auto show. The new four-seat 2002 CLK55 AMG Cabriolet will arrive in the Fall of 2001.
This is the first convertible prepared by AMG, Mercedes-Benz’ high-performance division. Preliminary performance estimates have the Cabriolet accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds.
The CLK55 AMG Cabriolet has a 342 horsepower 5.5-litre V8 engine with 376 ft.-lbs. of torque. All AMG engines are hand-assembled and tested on-site at Mercedes-AMG’s facility in Affalterbach, Germany.
