16 new vehicles to make Canadian debuts at Toronto auto show

Toronto, Ontario – At least sixteen new vehicles will be seen for the first time in Canada at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, February 15th to 24th. As well, another dozen new vehicles will make their Ontario debut, and one new concept car will have its North American premiere there.

Canadian debuts in Toronto include the MINI Cooper S, Volvo XC90, Volkswagen Passat W8, BMW 745Li, Mazda RX-8, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Audi A4 Avant (wagon), and Audi A4 Cabriolet. Mitsubishi will show its Canadian lineup for the first time: the Lancer, Galant, Diamante, Montero Sport, and Montero as well as the 2003 Eclipse Coupe and Spyder.

Vehicles making their Ontario debuts will include the Mazda6 sedan, MINI Cooper, Hyundai Tiburon, Cadillac CTS, Hummer H2, Pontiac Vibe GT, Saturn L-Series Sedan, VW Jetta Wagon, and Mercedes-Benz C230 Sport Coupe, C320 Sport Wagon, G500 and M-Class SUV’s.

A half dozen new concept cars are also confirmed for the show. In its North American premiere, Hyundai will unveil its Clix ‘crossover’ concept vehicle. DaimlerChrysler will display the PT Cruiser Convertible Concept and Jeep Varsity; Volvo will show the high performance PCC2 wagon; GM will provide ‘a glimpse at the future’ probably the new AUTOnomy concept car shown in Detroit; and Mitsubishi will show an as-yet-unnamed concept car.
