Montreal, Quebec – General Motors has shown the 2012 Buick Regal GS at the Montreal Auto Show, the Canadian debut of the production version. The GS is an even sportier version of the Regal sport sedan that recently went on sale.
The GS is powered by an exclusive 2.0-litre turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, producing an estimated 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Buick’s Interactive Drive Control system is standard, allowing drivers to switch the suspension settings and steering sensitivity between standard, sport and GS.
“The award-winning Regal sport sedan has succeeded in bringing new customers to Buick, thanks to its clean, contemporary sport sedan styling, together with poised, dynamic driving character thanks to Buick’s Interactive Drive Control System and its wide range of amenities,” said Marc Comeau, vice-president of Buick in Canada. “The GS is an even sportier expression of the Regal and you can see that the production model stayed true to the highly-praised styling of the concept, featuring exclusive exterior and interior sport appointments.”
The Regal GS will be built in Oshawa, Ontario and go on sale in the second half of 2011, with pricing announced closer to launch.
