B.C.’s cellphone “grace period” ends
A “grace period” for British Columbia drivers caught talking on a hand-held phone or electronic device ends Monday, February 1, 2010, with drivers facing a $167 fine for talking on a cell phone, and an additional three penalty points for texting or e-mailing.

Size and weight will reduce emissions: Oxford University
A new study by Oxford University in England says the best way to reduce emissions in the short term is by a “drastic downscaling of both size and weight” of conventional gasoline and diesel cars, and suggests not relying on manufacturers producing hydrogen or battery-powered vehicles in the next decade.
