2009 Toyota Venza
Montreal, Quebec – Toyota presented the official Canadian debut of the all-new 2009 Venza at the Montreal International Auto Show today. The new model couples the styling and comfort of a passenger car with the flexibility of an SUV, with a starting price of $28,720.
“Venza establishes an exciting new direction in vehicle design that combines the finest attributes of Toyota’s diverse model lineup,” said Warren Orton, director of Toyota Canada. “The Venza offers bold and expressive styling, excellent engine performance and efficiency, and a refined and comfortable interior.”
The Venza’s features include all-wheel drive, foldable rear seats, large cargo area, high driver sightline, and a towing capacity of up to 1,587 kg (3,500 lbs). It will be available with an all-new 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine delivering 182 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.5-litre V6 producing 268 horsepower and 246 lb-ft of torque. Both are available in front- or all-wheel drive, and use a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
Standard features include heated mirrors, windshield wiper de-icer, fog lamps, Optitron instrumentation, rear privacy glass, eight-way power driver’s seat, auto up/down windows, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control, seven airbags including a driver’s knee airbag, and vehicle stability and traction control.
The V6-powered models are available in dealerships now. Four-cylinder models will be $28,720 in front-wheel and $29,720 in all-wheel drive, while V6 models are $29,970 and $31,420.
