Montreal, Quebec – Mitsubishi’s presentation of the 2009 Lancer Sportback GTS 5-Door and Lancer Sportback Ralliart 5-Door at the Montreal International Auto Show was highlighted by appearances of top Canadian amateur athletes.
Downhill skier Mélanie Turgeon and swimmer Benoît Huot joined Tomoki Yanagawa, vice-president of sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada on stage as goodwill ambassadors for Right To Play, a primary Mitsubishi charity. In 2008, the automaker gave approximately $480,000 in direct cash contributions to the athlete-driven international organization, which uses specially-designed sport and play programs for children in communities affected by war, poverty and disease.
The two athletes engaged in humorous “give and take” with Yanagawa, helped to demonstrate some product features, and provided signed promotional Right To Play balls at the end of the presentation.
