Nissan GT-R named Motor Trend Car of the Year

Motor Trend magazine has selected the Nissan GT-R as the 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year. The 2009 GT-R is the sixth generation of Nissan’s flagship sports car, but is the first to come from a “clean slate” design, rather than based on Japanese-market Skyline models as previously, and the first to be globally marketed. Auto cutbacks could affect 3 million jobs: CAR

Ford Fiesta sedan world premiere held in China

Ford has staged the global reveal of its all-new Fiesta four-door sedan at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China. The new model will be sold in North America from 2010. SCE announces milestone in advanced battery performance

Utility company Southern California Edison (SCE) has announced a “major milestone” in advanced battery performance, following testing of a lithium-ion battery that demonstrated an equivalent lifespan of more than 180,000 miles (289,682 km) in a commercial delivery van with minimal deterioration.
